MDH Updates Adult Immunization Program

[MMA News Now, Jan. 9, 2014] As of Jan. 1, the Minnesota Department of Health no longer supplies adult vaccine for Minnesota Health Care Plan (MHCP) recipients (including Medical Assistance and MinnesotaCare).

Adults on MHCPs will continue to have coverage for all vaccinations. However, providers will need to privately purchase all vaccine and bill for the cost of the vaccine plus the administration fee to the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS). This is the same process providers use for privately insured individuals. There will be no changes to Minnesota Vaccines for Children (MnVFC) eligibility.

For questions or more information, email the program’s coordinator Miriam Muscoplat or call 651-201-5522.
