Clinic Leaders Learn About Quality Measurement

[MMA News Now, Aug. 21, 2014] On Aug. 19, the MMA and the Twin Cities Medical Society (TCMS) co-hosted “5 ways to get the most out of your mandated quality measurement and patient experience data,” the second in a three-part series of free clinic leadership lunch discussions.

The sessions - designed primarily for clinic managers, clinic administrators and other practice management staff - help physicians by providing information to those who help ensure that clinics and practices are at the forefront of health care trends and current information.

Barbara Daiker, PhD, FACMPE, the MMA’s quality manager, led the Aug. 19 session. Clinic leaders shared ideas and learned about five ways to get more out of measurement data. This included how to frame a quality question, where to find the data and how to bring the analysis to a conclusion.

The first clinic leadership session in July covered cyber liability. A third session, Oct. 8, will address MNsure. As with any new tool, there are many questions from physicians, patients and clinic leaders on the state’s health insurance exchange. Learn more about MNsure online and bring your questions in October. You can register for that event here.
