Accepting nominations for Physician Communicator of the Year
MINNEAPOLIS, June 11, 2008—The MMA is accepting nominations for 2008's Physician Communicator of the Year Award.
The award honors an MMA member who has shown exemplary skills in communication with the public in the previous year. This will be the 22nd year the award has been given.
Who might be eligible? Past winners have included physicians who wrote a book or a column or blog, who appeared in a television series on health, who served as a spokesperson or educated people in the mass media about health issues.
Twenty-one years ago, the MMA established a communications award to be given to an MMA member who has demonstrated exemplary skills in communication with the public, given his or her time for the benefit of the profession and the public, and who can serve as a role model for all physicians.
If there is a physician in your area who you believe deserves this award, please consider submitting a nomination.
Material must have originated in Minnesota and been published or broadcast between June 1, 2007 and May 31, 2008.
Submit print entries in a scrapbook or mounted in a suitable manner. Single articles may be mounted or sent as tear sheets.
Radio and television entries should include a printed summary or outline of the program’s content and a complete script if a script was used.
Video entries may be submitted in either VHS or DVD format. Radio entries may be submitted on cassette or CD.
Entries should include a title, the name of the nominee, the publisher or station, plus the name, address, and title of the person submitting entry.
