Pay for Performance

Pay for performance Pay-for-Performance (P4P) initiatives have been established by employers, insurers, the state legislature, and federal agencies. The MMA has led efforts to monitor and evaluate P4P programs in order to assure they are fair, meaningful, and do not pose significant administrative burdens on Minnesota’s physician clinics.

Minnesota Bridges to Excellence (BTE) The Buyers Health Care Action Group administers Minnesota BTE—a financial rewards program for providers who achieve optimal outcomes for patients with diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and depression—on behalf of Minnesota employers.

Minnesota Quality Incentive Payment System The 2008 Health Reform Law called for a statewide system of quality-based incentive payments to health care providers. The incentive payment system must be implemented for state employees and enrollees in state public insurance programs by July 1, 2010.

MN Community Measurement registry for CMS Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS)  MN Community Measurement is making it easier for physicians to participate in CMS PQRS pay for performance program that pays bonuses to doctors who report quality data. Eligible professionals can participate by submitting their data to MN Community Measurement.

Medicare's E-Prescribing Incentive Program The Medicare Electronic Prescribing Incentive Program (eRx) provides incentives for eligible professionals who are successful electronic prescribers.
