The MMA sent a letter to the 11 members of the health care reform conference committee Tuesday providing on-the-spot analysis of health reform ideas recently proposed by Gov. Tim Pawlenty.
The Minnesota House and Senate budget conference committee approved a compromise that would not raid the Health Care Access Fund nor cut physician payments by 3 percent.
The MMA is urging lawmakers to pass a bill expected to be up for a vote Thursday that would protect a newborn screening program that saves infants every year from terrible diseases and death.
Success in fashioning a better health care framework for all Minnesotans is close but not certain, MMA members were told in a letter sent Wednesday.

Every spring the MMA invites members to serve on standing committees for three-year terms beginning the following January.
The MMA Nominating and Leadership Development Committee is beginning the process of providing a slate of candidates to the 2008 House of Delegates.
Nominations are being accepted for the 2008 MMA Outstanding Achievement Awards.
