Can collecting race data improve care?

MINNEAPOLIS, May 13, 2008 - The Minnesota Governor’s Healthcare Disparities Task Force, Data Committee will a forum on June 2 that will focus on improving quality by collecting race data.
 
The forum is the third of a three part series and can count towards continuing education credit.
 
Race and ethnicity data collection in health care settings are important resources in order to raise awareness about the existence of disparities and to develop targeted approaches to reduce disparities based on this data.
 
The forum will raise awareness about the importance of data collection, address the business case for collecting it, provide practical tools for implementing data collection and discuss lessons learned from clinics that are collecting data.
 
When: Monday, June 2nd, 2008 from 12:00pm – 5:00pm
 
Where: HealthPartners Conference Center at 8170 33rd Avenue South,
Bloomington, Minn.
