Quit-Smoking Resources

Now that Minnesota has decided to ban smoking in the workplace, patients who smoke may feel the world is crashing down around them.

How can patients cope with the changes coming October 1?

Fortunately, Minnesota probably has more smoking cessation programs and methods than any other state. And they work in every way you can think of -- from one-on-one counseling to 12-step programs to online regimens. There are approaches for teenagers, seniors, veterans, and a host of ethnic communities. Many are free. So if patients are serious, help is available.

To this end the MMA has compiled a list of smoking cessation resources. There are so many programs to turn to, working in so many different ways, that there surely is one that will work for every individual.
