The MMA is ramping up its efforts to push for a permanent fix to Medicare’s sustainable growth rate (SGR) formula, which each year threatens large cuts in Medicare payments.
We are embarking on a national campaign to gather 1 million signatures to stop the Medicare meltdown. We’re asking physicians, county medical societies, senior citizens, and other community groups to sign the Stop the Medicare Meltdown petition. The petition is online. All you need to do is add your name, city and state, then hit the “sign” button.
The MMA has also put together a flier that you may choose to post in your office or make available to patients to encourage them to sign the petition.
Make your voice heard today and help educate patients and engage all Minnesotans in the drive to replace SGR.
Background
The Texas Medical Association launched the petition drive on Monday, April 5, urging Congress to fix the flawed payment formula that threatens care for millions of Medicare patients. Within days of the launch, 50 state medical societies, including the MMA, the District of Columbia and more than 15 specialty societies joined the Stop the Medicare Meltdown petition drive.
