White coats converge on the Capitol

Think your voice on important health care issues is not heard at the state Capitol? Just ask any of the physicians from around Minnesota who converged on the state Capitol last week for face time with their lawmakers at MMA’s annual Day at the Capitol event. Day at the Capitol gives physicians the opportunity to spend time getting acquainted with their legislators and educating them about the important issues facing medicine today.

“I felt the afternoon at the Capitol was a very valuable experience,” said Julie Anderson, M.D., St. Cloud. I met with two of my legislators, and hopefully this day will be a reminder to them that physicians care about the health needs of Minnesota and that we have an extremely important role to fill in health reform.”
