Minnesota Medical Association – Medical Student Section (MMA-MSS) Committee Appointments
Current Minnesota medical students are eligible for appointment to MMA committees. Student committee terms are for one year beginning January 1 and ending December 31. MMA committees meet 4 to 6 times per year on weekday evenings. All committee meetings are held at MMA headquarters in Minneapolis. Members can participate in person or via conference call.
Students can apply by completing the application below. Student committee members are expected to provide representation of MMA-MSS policy and student opinion to the MMA committees. Student committee members must also submit a written report of committee activities to the Vice-Chairperson as soon as practicable after each committee meeting OR be prepared to give an oral report at the subsequent MSS meeting. Student Committee members are also expected to attend MMA-MSS Assembly meetings to facilitate communication between the MMA Committees and the MMA-MSS. The MMA-MSS Assembly meetings occur 4-5 times per year.
Students can serve on the MMA committees listed below. Each committee allows one Student Representative and one Alternate Student Representative. The Alternate Student Representative is welcome to attend all committee meetings (but not required) and should serve as a “back up” to the Representative (i.e. attend meeting and provide report in Representative’s absence).
