Minority and Cross-Cultural Affairs Committee
Mission: To achieve a system of health care access, delivery, and education that eliminates any and all barriers for participation by Minnesota's minority citizens.
Charge:
- Identify and address issues specific to minority citizens that interfere with their ability to optimize their health and wellness.
- Work with other groups to improve the health and lifestyle of minority citizens.
- Identify and examine problems and circumstances encountered by minority citizens in accessing the health care system and optimizing their health.
- Educate minority citizens in health care occupations and identify ways to facilitate their education and vocation in health care.
- Identify, support, and nurture Minnesota minority physicians.
- Monitor and address legislative and regulatory issues that affect the health and care delivery of minority populations.
- Communicate relevant issues to the Board of Trustees and MMA membership.
